Police were called to Adelaide Botanic High School on Frome Rd in the CBD at about 4.45pm on Tuesday afternoon after the boy allegedly stabbed another student with a pair of scissors.
The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated on campus.
The 13-year-old North Adelaide boy was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, common assault and carrying an offensive weapon.

The teenager is due to reappear next month.
An Education Department spokesman said the matter was under police investigation so more information could not be disclosed.
“The school called the police yesterday in response to an alleged assault with a pair of scissors,” the spokesman said in a statement.
“However, we can confirm that the school is taking disciplinary action and counselling has been provided to all those affected by the incident.
