Electric off-roads are on the rise. In addition to the KTM Freeride, Zero FX and the Stark VARG, which we will soon be testing, the Dutch EMX Powertrain is announcing its latest electric dirt bike: the XF30. One hundred copies, part of the first limited series, are now available to pre-order. EMX spent two years building the machine to get it production ready. The XF30 name comes from combining the best qualities of a dirt bike (the X for cross) with the freedom (the F for Freedom) of clean technology. The number 30 refers to the 30 kW electric powertrain.
40 hp, 720 Nm, 4.5 kWh
The double-beam aluminum frame features KYB suspension, which gives the bike the feel of a conventional dirt bike. Thanks to the cooling, the electric motor and battery are built to deliver high power at all times. Maintenance is limited, so you can continue to drive as much as possible. The figures say 40 hp and no less than 720 Nm (at the rear wheel) – that is not a typo – with a battery of 4,500 Wh. The XF30 is equipped with a mapping switch so you can set it up for a race, a fun ride or an enduro outing.
Delivery in Q1 2023
EMX will start production of the XF30 with a limited run of 100 engines, to be delivered from Q1 2023, before ramping up production in the near future. Limited edition pre-ordered machines will have a special label on the frame. Interested? You can order here†
