Labor’s cash incentives for vaccinations a ‘vote of no-confidence in Australians’: PM

Prime Minister Scott Morrison says he thinks the proposal put forward by Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese and Labor regarding cash incentives for getting vaccinated is a “vote of no-confidence in Australians”.

In an attempt to provide vaccination motivation, Mr Albanese proposed a $300 cash bonus for Australians who are fully vaccinated against the virus by December 1.

“I have seen Australians respond with courage, determination, and kindness over the past 18 months to get through,” Mr Morrison said during a media conference on Tuesday.

“Doing it for the cash, I don’t think, is what would motivate an Australian to do this.

“I think doing it for themselves, their family, their communities and for their country, is what motivates them to do this.”
