Triumph announces acquisition of OSET Bikes, manufacturer of electric mini-offroads

Triumph announces the acquisition of OSET Bikes, the British manufacturer of electric off-road motorcycles for children. The acquisition is part of Triump’s broader plan to offer a full range of off-road motorcycles and engage a new generation of motorcyclists.

Ahead of the launch of the new Motocross and Enduro models, Triumph Motorcycles is taking another important step into the off-road world with the acquisition of OSET Bikes, the world leader in electric off-road motorcycles for children.

Started in 2004 by Ian Smith, who wanted to build an electric motocross bike for his son Oliver, OSET has set the benchmark in its segment for the past 18 years. OSET has sold more than 40,000 bicycles worldwide with their in-house developed electric powertrains.

The acquisition of OSET is in line with Triumph’s strategy to expand the range into the off-road segment, as announced in 2020, and offers both companies the opportunity to share and benefit from each other’s knowledge and experience in their respective segments, enabling both brands to grow internationally at the same time.

Triumph’s philosophy, For The Ride, was instrumental in the OSET acquisition, as it enables the Hinckley-based brand to inspire generations of riders to come by providing them with the perfect starting point to develop their passion and dreams. OSET Bikes offers products suitable for every rider from 3 years old.

Nick Bloor, CEO of Triumph:

While the two brands continue to operate independently, Triumph and OSET will collaborate on new state-of-the-art products to inspire young riders to take off-road riding, in the segments where Triumph and OSET will be present, building on their respective strengths to create the best bikes in the world. build the world.”

Ian Smith, OSET Bikes CEO:

“When we built that first ‘garage’ bike for my son, Oliver, I had no idea it would lead to this moment. We are all really excited about what the future holds for OSET as part of the Triumph family The OSET brand remains OSET and will continue to serve the trial and off-road motorcycle community. We are now better positioned to develop and innovate our range, while enjoying the certainty of scale and market position that Triumph can offer OSET.”
