Windows 11 22H2 Update Not Updating

Recently, Microsoft released the Windows 11 22H2 Update. However, it causes all kinds of problems, so do not install this update. And read here what to do if you do have it installed.

Microsoft announced the availability of the Windows 11 2022 Update last week. Also known as Windows 11 22H2, this update is the first major update to Windows 11 since this operating system was launched in 2021.

Issues
As you can read in this article about the Windows 11 22H2 Update, we always advise you to wait a little longer before installing such major Microsoft updates. Often there are still some bugs/ teething problems that then with a patch (plaster) are dissolved. Hopefully you followed our advice, because all kinds of issues have been found around the Windows 11 22H2 update. For example, users who performed the upgrade encountered various errors: programs that no longer want to start, hardware that refuses service and updates that hang.
As a result, Microsoft has now stopped offering the upgrade via Windows Update.

Advice
Our advice still remains in force, in fact: don’t do it for the time being! Postpone this upgrade until further notice until it catches Update and Security offered. Only install updates that are offered automatically, so no (optional) updates that have to be started manually.
In the image below you see the Windows 11 22H2 Update circled in red with KB5017383, so you should not install and download it; so you don’t see it as good for the time being. (article continues below the image)

Did you upgrade? Then do this!
If you belong to the (small) group that has already performed the upgrade and the problems persist? Then go back to the previous version Windows 11 21H2. You do this by clicking on the icon Settings, that is the gear that appears in the image when you click on The Windows window at the bottom left. Then you choose Windows Update > Advanced options > recovery > Downgrade > Back.
Below is the corresponding screenshot. Please note: this option can only be performed within 10 days. After 10 days, the option to go back expires. After that time, reverting to the previous version is only possible through an in-place installation of Windows 11 21H2. Do you know how that works? Fine! If not, get help at one of our HCC meetings.

Urgent advice so: wait patiently until the offer for the upgrade appears.
